Vital Leeds United has kept you up to date with all those players linked with a move to and from Elland Road this transfer window as another window looks like ending like a damp squib.

It is nearly all over once again and after a promising start with Leeds signed two players, it has been the same old story at Elland Road as off-field problems have taken centre stage.

With Sports Capital pulling the plug on their takeover of the club it looks like the only deals could be players leaving the club.

In fact, Friday could well be a day for closing the curtains and keeping yourself away from the PC, local radio and that idiot on Sky Sports News.

I will start with those on the radar of other clubs. Since West Ham United targeted Ross McCormack last week, Sunderland, Cardiff City and West Bromwich Albion have all been linked with Leeds 19-goal leading goalscorer this week. Could Leeds for the second January transfer window in a row lose their 19-goal leading goalscorer on the final day?

Luke Varney refused to play for Leeds in midweek with reports that Blackburn Rovers are on the verge of signing him.

Forgotten midfielder Paul Green is being linked with a move to Ipswich Town. Green hasn`t featured for the first team since the beginning of October.

In the final week, Leeds have been linked with two Italian based players. These have materialised after the reports that Massimo Cellino is close to buying the club.

Experienced Verona striker Daniele Cacia has been linked with a move to Elland Road.

Cacia starred for Verona last season as they won promotion to Serie A with him netting 25-goals. This season he has been less successful and he is yet to score in ten appearances.

Cellino could also raid his Italian club according to reports with midfielder Andrea Tabanelli being linked with a Leeds move.

The 23-year-old has only joined Cagliari from Serie B Cesena this week.

I will only use rumours from national newspapers and internet sites such as Sky Sports, Teamtalk and Clubcall and not from someone who knows someone, who saw someone in a petrol station just off the M1.
