Leeds United must decide whether to extend the loan of goalkeeper Jason Brown or allow him to return to his parent club Blackburn Rovers after completing his second month on loan at Elland Road yesterday when he was on the bench against Bristol City.

Kasper Schmeichel is now back to full fitness after a foot injury and returned to the starting line up against Cardiff City towards the end of October.

Shane Higgs had to be named on the bench at Coventry as cover to Brown after Schmeichel missed the game after becoming a father for the first time despite not being fully fit.

Speaking in the YEP, Grayson said, ‘We’ll look at Shane and see what the situation is ‘He was on the bench at Coventry but he wasn’t 100 per cent.
‘If we need to extend Jason’s deal then hopefully it’s something he and Blackburn will be happy to do.’

Higgs played in a behind closed doors friendly at Liverpool in midweek and is still not yet 100% fit so Leeds could look to extend the loan of Brown for a third month.

Brown as made it clear to Blackburn that he wants to move away from Ewood Park. Brown also speaking in the YEP, said, ‘I made it clear to Blackburn in the summer that I was looking for another club.’

Brown, who looks remarkably like Steve Griffin who runs the Thames Valley Whites supporters branch, has played three times since arriving at Elland Road, originally as cover for Shane Higgs after an injury to Kasper Schmeichel.

The Welsh international was then forced into the fray after Shane Higgs suffered a hamstring injury at Ipswich Town at the start of October.

He made his first start in the 2-1 away win at Middlesbrough the following week and more recently in the 3-2 win at Coventry City when Schmeichel was away.
