Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says the club are still talking with El Hadji Diouf about a deal at the club.

Diouf is currently at Elland Road on a non-contract basis and he is free to talk to other clubs this week.

Warnock believes the former African footballer is enjoying his time at Leeds and the reception he received from the fans when he was substituted late on in the game with Oxford United should make him want to stay with the club.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, “He is enjoying it here. I think he could get more money elsewhere but he does not need the money.

“I keep saying to him. When you look at a stadium like this and I think the applause he got when he came off tonight was brilliant. If that doesn`t make him want to stay then I think there is something wrong with him.”

Diouf started his second game in a row for Leeds in their 3-0 win over Oxford in the League Cup at Elland Road and he has featured in all five of Leeds games so far this season.

It has been reported that the Senegal international is being chased by a number of clubs in this country and abroad and a decision is expected in the next few days.
