With the 2009/10 season now over we take a look at the stats over the season that eventually saw Leeds gain promotion back to the Championship.
Goalscorers
Striker Jermaine Beckford finished third in the overall goalscoring charts in League One this season.
Beckford`s crucial goal against Bristol Rovers on Saturday saw him finish the season on 25 goals, five behind leader, Ricky Lambert at Southampton and one behind Billy Paynter at Swindon Town.
Fellow Leeds striker Luciano Becchio finished eleventh with 15 goals. Former Leeds defender Ian Harte, who is now at Carlisle, finished inside the top ten with 16 goals for the season.
Assists
Robert Snodgrass led the way for Leeds with 9 assists during the season, which was only good enough to finish in 16th position with the overall leader being Jon Paul McGovern at Swindon Town.
Max Gradel, Jermaine Beckford and Jon Howson were next best with 5.
One interesting stat was that Ricky Lambert at Southampton who scored 30 goals was also well placed in the assists chart with 12.
Shooting
Team
Leeds led the way in all three categories. They had the most shots on target with 303, the most off target with 323 to finish with an overall total of 626. They also hit the woodwork a staggering 24 times.
Player
Jermaine Beckford had the most shots on target with 77, Ricky Lambert had the most off target with 78 with Beckford finishing second with 63.
Ricky Lambert and Nicky Bailey at Charlton hit the woodwork 9 times with Beckford finishing third with 8.
Discipline
Team
MK Dons were the worst side in the division for discipline; they gave away 629 fouls, received 128 yellow cards and 8 reds, four of those coming against Leeds.
Leeds finished seventh, giving away 551 fouls, 74 yellow cards and 2 reds.
Tresor Kandol and Max Gradel were the two player to be given their marching orders.
Bradley Johnson and Mike Doyle received the most yellow cards during the season, both receiving 8 during the league season. Johnson had the worst record overall, receiving 12 and he was the only player to receive a two-match suspension for the totting up process when he reached 10 yellow cards for the season.
Bristol Rovers conceded the most penalties, conceding 10, Leeds conceded 6.
Player
Grant Holt topped the discipline charts, he gave away 86 fouls, received 8 yellow cards and 1 red.
Clean sheets
Norwich City led the way with clean sheets, they managed to keep 19 during the season.
Leeds finished joint second with Millwall and Huddersfield on 16, this is despite only keeping 3 during the second half of the season.
Players used
MK Dons used the most players during the season using 40, Leeds were in ninth place using 35.
Huddersfield Town used the least using just 24 throughout the season.
Appearances
Only seven players managed to go throughout the season without missing a game, former Leeds United player Sean Gregan who is now at Oldham Athletic was amongst them.
Jon Howson led the way for Leeds making 45 appearances, 39 starts and 6 as a substitute.
Mike Doyle made the most starts, making 42.
Robert Snodgrass led the way overall, out of 59 competitive games he made 52 starts and 5 substitute appearances missing just the two games.
