Leeds United kicked off their pre season programme with a 2-0 win at Falkirk.

Leeds boss Simon Grayson took the opportunity to give his squad a game with summer signings Paul Rachubka and Michael Brown making their debuts.

Also getting a first run out for the side were first year professionals, Alex Cairns, Zac Thompson, Nathan Turner and Lewis Turner.

Ben Parker and Patrick Kisnorbo both made starts as did Lloyd Sam who all spent a lot of last season on the sidelines.

Ramon Nunez was given an opportunity to shine in a Leeds shirt with his first start for the club.

Tom Lees and Adam Clayton, who spent most of last season out on loan also started.

Leeds won thanks to goals either side of half time.

Ramon Nunez saw his cross deflected in by Falkirk defender Thomas Scobbie and Robert Snodgrass scored a rare header following a cross from Lloyd Sam.

Grayson made six changes at half time and another five on 63 minutes as the squad were given time on the pitch.

The only sour note of the night was the withdrawal of Max Gradel inside the final ten minutes through injury after he found himself on the wrong end of a couple of heavy tackles.

Team
Rachubka (Cairns 63), Connolly (Bromby 46), Kisnorbo (Lees 63), Lees (Bruce 46), Parker (White 46), Snodgrass (N. Turner 63), Clayton (Thompson 63), Brown (Howson 46), Sam (L. Turner 63), Nunez (Gradel 46), Paynter (McCormack 46).
