Leeds have at last strengthened their frail backline with the capture of Ipswich Town defender Richard Naylor.

Unfortunately it`s only on a one month loan deal when we desperately need to strengthen for the rest of the season and not just a month.

The 31 year old is Leeds born and a life long Leeds United fan and he jumped at the chance to join the Whites.

Naylor has spent twelve years at Portman Road having progressed through their academy system and he`s made over 300 appearances for the Tractor boys, his contract runs out at the club at the end of the season.

The former striker switched to a central defensive role under ex Ipswich manager Joe Royle early this century, he also had short loan spells at Millwall and Barnsley in 2002.

His nicknames at Ipswich were either ‘Bam Bam’ or ‘Psycho’ so he should fit in quite well at Leeds!

Leeds have also been widely linked today with Derby County central defender Claude Davis.
