Leeds United look set to host Italian Serie A side Cagliari in pre-season according to reports in Italy.

Owner Massimo Cellino recently sold Cagliari after 22-years in charge at the Sardinian club and it is being reported in Italy that part of the deal that saw him sell the club to Tommaso Giulini recently would involve a friendly at Elland Road.

Leeds have yet to announce their pre-season programme although they have said they will be visiting Italy for two weeks and intend on playing two games during their stay.

A trip to Northern Ireland for a friendly with Glenavon is also planned as part of the deal that brought young striker Robbie McDaid to Elland Road.

In recent years, Leeds have finished their pre-season with a home game on the weekend prior to the new season starting.

The 2014/15 season will kick off with a trip to Millwall on August 9th.
