Leeds United pulled out of a deal last week to sign Ipswich Town striker Tamas Priskin on loan according to Town boss Paul Jewell.

Leeds have been looking to bolster their forward line with a number of strikers out through injury at the moment. Last seasons top goalscorer Luciano Becchio still out with a hamstring injury. Davide Somma is unlikely to be back until the New Year as he recovers from a cruciate knee ligament injury and Billy Paynter has missed the last three games.

Jewell speaking on Radio Suffolk said, “‘Tamas was lined up to go to Leeds and at the 11th hour they changed their mind.
“It`s disappointing for Tamas and disappointing for us, it would have given him games and put him in the shop window.’

Priskin seems to be surplus to requirements at Portman Road and he had a spell on loan at Swansea City last season.

Leeds have already signed Andy Keogh on loan this week until the New Year from Wolverhampton Wanderers and he made his debut against Hull City in midweek

They are also giving a trial to former Chelsea and Birmingham City striker Mikael Forssell.

Leeds are also rumoured to be in the hunt for Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz.
