Leeds United beat Scunthorpe United 3-0 to progress to the fourth round of the FA Youth cup at Elland Road on Tuesday night.

The winners of the competition in both 1993 and 97 booked their passage thanks to a hat trick from Dominic Poleon.

The 17-year-old striker struck twice in the first half and completed his hat trick with just five minutes remaining.

Youth team manager Neil Redfearn was happy with the sides performance and was particularly pleased with his hat trick hero, speaking on the official website, Redfearn said, “He is a powerful boy, he has a hammer of a right foot and he works on the theory that he hits the target and his finishing on the night was clinical.”

Poleon as now netted seven times in eleven appearances for the under 18`s this season and as also made his first appearance for the reserve side.

Leeds are one of only nine sides to currently complete their third round ties due to the cold snap that is hitting the country.
