The Whites continue their march towards promotion with another emphatic performance at Brighton and Hove Albion.

Leeds were without club skipper Richard Naylor and influential midfielder for the clash at Brighton.

In a fairly tight opening Beckford and Forster had the best chances for their respective clubs but both blasted wide of the target.

Leeds took the lead just short of the half hour when Robert Snodgrass gave Smith no chance in the Brighton goal with a blistering strike from distance.

The lead was almost doubled within minutes when Beckford saw an effort come back off the post.

Murray could have equalised for the home side but his weak header went wide.

Snodgrass was full of confidence after his goal and tried to double the lead with an audacious chip, which Smith dealt with.

Leeds did double the lead just before half time when Neil Kilkenny put Beckford through who made no mistake.

Beckford was making his one hundredth start today in a Leeds shirt and the goal was his sixty sixth.

Sam Vokes could have made it three before half time but his strike went across goal and out for a goal kick.

A tremendous first half from Leeds in a game they had totally dominated and could have quite easily have gone in three or four up.

Leeds thought they should have had a penalty early in the second half when Snodgrass was dragged down but the referee waved away the players claims.

Kisnorbo should have made it three but he totally mistimed his jump form a Snodgrass corner and failed to make any contact when in a great position.

Brighton had their best chance to get back into the game just past the hour when Murray put wide when in a great position.

Robert Snodgrass again tried his luck from range but this time his effort sailed over the bar.

The home side didn`t look like scoring and Forster summed up their performance when he put a free kick in a good position straight into the wall.

David Prutton replaced John Howson late on after he had pulled up with what looked like cramp a few minutes earlier.

Simon Grayson made another substitution soon after with Showunmi replacing Vokes as Leeds looked to run down the clock and preserve players for Tuesday`s game with Leyton Orient.

Leeds wrapped the game up late on when Prutton put the ball into the middle and Kilkenny raced in to smash the ball home.

Another three points for Leeds and they can now look forward to playing Leyton Orient at home on Tuesday night.
