LUFC Leeds make it eleven in a row to lead the way


Leeds United became the first npower Championship side to score in eleven consecutive league games when they beat Coventry City 1-0 on Saturday.

Leeds have now gone one better than the previous best of ten that was achieved by both Doncaster Rovers and Bristol City earlier in the season.

The last time Leeds failed to score was in the 0-0 draw at Reading towards the end of November.

Leeds have only failed to score in three of their thirty games so far this season, they have drawn 0-0 with both Doncaster Rovers and Reading and the 4-0 defeat inflicted on them by Cardiff City in October.

Leeds fans are having an entertaining season with 102 goals score in their 30 games so far this season.

They lead the way in the Championship for goals scored this season. Davide Somma`s strike against Coventry was their 55th Championship goal of the season in 30 games at an average of 1.83 goals per game. They have also managed to concede 47 goals and only five clubs have a worse defensive record.

Leeds are one of only two clubs to have two players with over ten goals so far this season. Luciano Becchio (13) and Davide Somma (10) are only matched by Watford duo Danny Graham (15) and Marvin Sordell (10).

Max Gradel (9), Jonny Howson (7), Robert Snodgrass (5) and Bradley Johnson (5) also look well set to get into double figures this season.

Leeds have had eleven different players score for them so far this season in the Championship, only Middlesbrough, Preston and Sheffield United have had fewer players score for them with nine apiece.

The Whites have been stronger in the second half of games in front of goal so far this season, with 23 goals coming in the first half and 32 in the second.

Of those 32 goals in the second half, 25 have come in the last half hour and ten of those have come in the final ten minutes.

Striker Becchio (5 goals) and Somma (3 goals) have been the most prolific in the final ten minutes of games.

Leeds have scored six goals in the opening ten minutes of games with midfielder Jonny Howson scoring the fastest goal of the season so far in the third minute in the away game at Barnsley.

Howson as also scored the most goals in the opening ten minutes for Leeds, with three out of the six being scored by the Leeds captain.

Leeds least productive spell in games as come between 20-30 minutes of the game, with just three goals coming from Max Gradel, Bradley Johnson and Davide Somma.

Despite Leeds having a reputation of having to come from behind to win games this season they have conceded more goals in the second half than the first. They have conceded 21 in the first half and 26 in the second.

Leeds have managed to keep things tight at the back in the opening ten minutes of games and have conceded just two goals so far this season.

Jon Parkin scored the fastest goal so far this season against Leeds, when he netted for Preston after four minutes in their astonishing 6-4 win at Elland Road in September.

Leeds have scored the first goal in games on 13 occasions so far this season, they have gone on to win 9, draw 3 and lose 1.

They have dropped 14 points so far this season from a leading position.

Leeds let slip a 4-1 lead against Preston to eventually lose 6-4, the only time they have conceded six goals at Elland Road in their history.

When the opposition have scored first on 15 occasions this season, they have gone on to win 4, draw 5 and lose 6.

Leeds have won 17 points this season after going behind in games.

Their biggest turnaround was when they were 2-0 down at Burnley and came back to win 3-2.
