Alan Martin was quick to earn the plaudits after his weekend performance for Barrow in the FA Cup at Middlesbrough.

The keeper who Joined Barrow earlier in the season on loan is staying with the Blue Square Premiership side till April, he`s been earning rave reviews since joining them.

The Scottish under 19 international turned 20 on New Years Day and was being chased by a host of clubs including Glasgow Rangers when he signed for Leeds from Motherwell in the summer of 2007.

The Barrow co manager Dave Bayliss speaking on Leeds official website after Saturday`s cup tie said “Alan has been with us three month`s and he`s been fantastic, he`s kept us in games and we knew we had to come here and play well to get something. The lads got a really big future”

With Leeds having problems between the sticks all season with the old boss McAllister swapping and changing between Casper Ankergren and David Lucas all season maybe it`s time to bring back Martin and give him a chance.

So far his only involvement with the first team was during the pre season tour of Ireland making his debut against Shelbourne in a 1-1 draw.
