Leeds entertained Hartlepool for the second time this season hoping to get back to winning ways in the League after last weekends defeat.

Leeds made quite a few changes from the Huddersfield game with Lucas, Hughes and Prutton all keeping their places after impressing in the midweek cup win at Northampton.

There was no place, not even on the bench for non contract player Malcolm Christie who started at Northampton.

Becchio had Leeds first chance heading wide from a Prutton cross.
Jermaine Beckford who scored a hat trick at Northampton looked back to his confident best and a driving run at the Hartlepool defence needed a good save from the Pool keeper.

The keeper could do nothing about Beckford`s next chance when he planted a header past him and into the net.

Hartlepool were looking dangerous on the break and equalised when Joel Porter stabbed the ball into the roof of the net after a flick on from Kevin Kyle.

Leeds were quickly back on the attack and a double save kept out Beckford.

Leeds continued to apply the pressure with a succession of corners and Michalik had an effort cleared off the line.

An entertaining first half came to an end with the side`s level with both sides looking like they could add to their tally.

Leeds quickly retook the lead in the second half when Leeds hottest property Fabian Delph gave the keeper no chance from just inside the area.

Hartlepool had a good chance to equalise soon afterwards but Robson`s shot was blocked by Michalik.

James Brown then hit the bar as Hartlepool searched for the equaliser.

Leeds wrapped up the three points when Becchio finished well after a through ball from Beckford.

The Whites continued to dominate and Andy Robinson was unlucky with a couple of efforts.
Leeds put the icing on the cake in the last minute when Jermaine Beckford got his second of the afternoon.

With five of Leeds next seven League games being away this was an important three points.
