Tiny T has taken time out to give us a match report and player ratings from Saturday`s game.
First half
Leeds looked up for the game from the start passing the ball well and looked in control. They deservedly took the lead if somewhat fortunately when a Beckford shot wickedly deflected off Steve Elliott into the net to put Leeds in charge.
After this although passing well there was no end product with the ball moving backwards and sideways but never to threaten the Rovers goal. Rovers took the lead with two quick goals both from Lambert and Duffy and both from the left. Rovers looked comfortable as Leeds did little to break down the opposition.
This was in main to the four central midfielders being too close together and no width.

Second half
Leeds came out fired up and quickly threatened the Rovers goal but stout defending kept them at bay.
Leeds made Substitutions but it was another lucky break that got the equaliser, Showumni’s shot hit the Defender, and then hit the back of Beckfords heel to fall in the 6yd box, Beckford reacted first to chip the ball over the Keeper.
Leeds threw on Snodgrass who gave the extra width but Leeds could not find the goal to take all three points.

The Midfield struggled with Kilkenny, Douglas and Hughes out of sorts; only Delph could hold his head up with a whole hearted display.

Lucas 5
No chance with either goal but I would not have him in the net before Casper.

Richardson 7 Star man
Fraser was solid in defence and in the 2nd half got forward well to put Rovers on the back foot.

Michalik 6
Unless Rui was injured I cannot understand why he played, asleep for the 2nd goal along with others and his distribution is poor. If in doubt he goes long.

Huntington 6
As with others asleep for the 2nd goal but timely headers and tackles won, getting better.

Johnson 4
Both goals came from his side of the defence says a lot! His game improved in the second half, and then was subbed.

Kilkenny 3
Supposed to be wide left I think but was never there, all over the place. Received the ball a lot but reminded me of Ray Wilkins, the ball went sideways and backwards but hardly ever forwards. Needs a slow boat back to Aussie on this performance.

Douglas 4
Again not much better than Kilkenny, how he started in front of Prutton only Macca knows.

Delph 6
The pick of the midfielders, relished the fight and good array of passing, needs to have a go on goal when in good positions.

Hughes 3
Another who did not have a good game, played wide right I think? but was never there.

Becchio 6
Hard worker and fast becoming a fans favourite, no supply in the 1st half and mysteriously played out wide right for periods in both halves. Puts defenders under pressure and the goals will come.

Beckford 7
Played wide left for long periods which with Becchio wide on the left no one up front. 1st goal took a massive deflection but they all count, 2nd a poachers joy, hit a defender, then him on the heel, he reacted fast and chipped on rushing Keeper.

Subs

Howson
Got the ball moving forward and got involved.

Showumni
Enoch made one good run and a few nice touches but for a big man wins little in the air.

Snodgrass
Needed from the start gave us width down the left when he was introduced.

Macca – Too many central midfielders played giving the team no width, its time for them to be replaced. Beckford and Becchio need some supply and should not be supplying the crosses as there`s no one there to convert chances. Defence needs to be alert for set pieces taken early as they were asleep for the 2nd half.
