LUFC Leeds Fans View v Derby County

I made the trip to Pride Park to watch Leeds United suffer a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Derby County.

The day had started well. The Thames Valley Whites were on time and after a few beers in Long Eaton with the Doncaster, Chiltern and Leominster Whites branches, we were in the ground before kick-off.

It all went downhill after that and here are my views of the player`s performance.

Kenny 4
He could do nothing with any of the goals and I cannot remember him doing much in the game.

Peltier 3
How is he keeping Sam Byram out of the side? He offers us little going forward and he was caught ball watching at times. Would he not be better off in the centre, where he played well in the second half of last season?

Lees 3
Lost his form. What will McDermott do next time we play? Will he revert back to Scott Wootton?

Pearce 3
Finally scored his first Leeds goal but his defending was shocking. He came across to help Green and Lees for the first goal and left Chris Martin unmarked in the middle. Second goal he had gone wandering and that allowed Johnny Russell space to score and the third goal he was nowhere near Will Hughes.

Warnock 3
I didn`t go in midweek but apparently he played well. Shame he was back to his form of the rest of the season on Saturday.

Green 1
What was he doing for the first goal? Shocking performance and I am not sure how he is in the side. It has got that bad that I want Michael Brown in the side.

Austin 3
Where has the Austin gone of the first month? Totally off the boil since returning from international duty and it is no coincidence that we look an easy touch since his form has dipped.

Tonge 5 Star Man
I would have to say he was our best player on Saturday but a mark of 5 probably sums up the performance.

Mowatt 5
He played really well in the first half but he disappeared after the break. Shame the young lad is getting dragged down by more senior pro`s.

McCormack 3
Play him up front and he will score goals, or at least that is what he said in midweek. Unfortunately, he doesn`t have the supply to score goals.

Hunt 2
Did nothing again. He is the new Billy Paynter!

Poleon 3

He did little when he came on but what are his chances when he came on at the same time as Matt Smith and everything is being aimed long.

Smith 2
Thankfully, I was quite high up in the stands otherwise, you would get a bad neck watching the high balls being hoofed towards him.

Diouf 5
He offered us a bit more quality when he came on and got involved. Time to get him back in the side.

Summary
First signs at the end of the game yesterday that the fans are beginning to vent their frustrations towards the manager.

Honeymoon period is well and truly over Brian whilst you continue to start some of your favourites, who despite playing poorly, remain in the side.

How can Byram not get into this side, Diouf should be getting more game time, Murphy on the bench whilst Green produces another inept performance and Hunt, where do I start with him.

I did both Millwall and Derby in the last week and both performances lacked the one thing all Leeds fans demand. There is no passion, no grit and determination. We can put up with defeats if we think the players are giving it their all and at the moment, I would say only young Mowatt is trying his hardest.

Two weeks until the next game. McDermott must strengthen the squad; otherwise, we are in a real relegation scrap this season.
