LUFC Leeds fans view v Coventry

I was unfortunate enough to make the trip to the Ricoh Arena on Tuesday night and watch another inept performance by Leeds United.

Lonergan 2

He hardly had a save to make all night and you cannot put any blame at the keeper when conceding two penalties. His own game though has deteriorated since getting the captains armband. He is not commanding in his and he was lucky to get away with poor decisions when he got nowhere near the ball.

Smith 2
He looks ok going forward but does nothing for me as a defender and gets beaten very easily.

O`Dea 1
It is a time for a change in defence. O`Dea is continuously caught out defensively and very clumsy.

Lees 2
His performances are getting worse. I do not think the poor players he has around him in defence help it. Lees continuously just hammers the ball aimlessly forward.

Pugh 1
Hard to believe that when the old miser Bates does open his wallet he wastes it on Danny Pugh. If he is a defender then so am I.

Snodgrass 3
He hardly got a kick all night. When he did get on the ball it was usually when we looked a tiny bit more threatening but probably his worst game for a long time.

Clayton 1
What has happened to the Clayton we were all praising in the first half of the season. Seems to just run around aimlessly and rarely got involved.

Delph 2
If Alex McLeish wants him back then let him go. He seems to have gone backward as a player since leaving Leeds in 2009. He got injured close to the hour and may have played his last game for Leeds anyway.

White 2
He is a much better left back than left-winger. Missed a really good chance to put Leeds ahead with a feeble shot.

Becchio 2
He rarely got into the game and disappeared more and more as the game went on.

McCormack 4 Star Man
He was the only player who showed any fight and movement. He took his goal well and not sure what Redfearn was thinking when he took him off.

Subs

Brown 1

It looks like we are going to be stuck with Brown in midfield if Delph is out. He allowed the Coventry player to walk past him for the decisive penalty.

O`Brien 1
His first game since refusing to play for Leeds back in November. It looked like he was still refusing to play.

Nunez 1
He was not on long enough to really get into the game.

Redfearn 0
Hopefully now Bates will realise that Redfearn is not the man for the job. Tactically inept and he does not have a clue how to change things. He looked like he was happy to take a point when bringing on O`Brien for Smith.

Quite how he could take off McCormack near the end for Nunez defied logic. Go back to looking after the kids at Thorp Arch.

Summary
A truly shocking performance and right up there with the performances against Watford away and Blackpool at home as the worst of the season.

We rarely looked like threatening the Coventry goal. There is no teamwork, no movement and no leadership on and off the pitch.

I am just grateful we look like we have enough points already to avoid relegation because this performance was one of a team at the bottom of the table.
