Vital Leeds United have been saddened by the news that former Leeds United Supporters Club Secretary Eric Carlile has sadly passed away.
Eric, who became a life vice president of the supporters club, sadly passed away on Friday January 12th at the age of 89.
Eric did so much for Leeds United supporters, going above and beyond what would have been expected, to help supporters from across Britain and all across the world in 50-years of service to the supporters club.
His service to the supporters club also saw him elected to represent the fans as a council member on the board of directors at Elland Road.
He was a proper gentleman, who always had time for all fans and he did so much for the supporters clubs in the 1980`s at a time when we had so many problems off the pitch.
He will be sadly missed and my condolences go out to all his family and friends.
RIP Eric and thank you for everything over the years.
The Leeds United Supporters Club issued a statement on Friday after his sad passing.
Many Leeds supporters took to Twitter to offer their condolences and remember a true gentleman.

This man always sorted me out for tickets when travelling from Norway in the 80s. This man let me stay at his house for a week when I was only 16. This man was Leeds! #lufc RIP https://t.co/8SmUDwQgaf
