LUFC Leeds Fan View v Middlesbrough

Vital Leeds United contributor King Billy mad the trip to Middlesbrough on Friday evening.

King Billy doesn`t hold back on his assessment of one of the worst performances of the season as Leeds went down to a 3-0 defeat.

Wiedwald 0
If he never plays for Leeds again, it will be too soon. When will the head coach realise that he is an intruder who is robbing a living from the club. Basic principles of goalkeeping are too much for him.

Berardi 5 Star Man
The only one who showed any fight and desire. I would hope he walked in the dressing room after the game and told the other members of the squad a few home truths.

Cooper 2
Cooper has gone from a great game against Brentford last weekend to not knowing how to put his left foot in front of his right. It was like watching Bambi on ice all evening.

Jansson 2
He can take his part of the blame for the first two goals. He lost Bamford for both the first and second goals.

Anita 1
Anita is another player who is stealing a living. He was scared to death of the Middlesbrough winger all night.

O`Kane 2
What has happened to him? He was playing well in the first half of the season but since Christmas, he has been a calamity.

Phillips 2
Like O`Kane, a decent first half of the season has been followed by inept performance after inept performance.

Lasogga 2
He might as well have stood with us in the stands.

Saiz 2
Only bright spark going forward but he often tried to do everything on his own. It looks like he hasn`t learnt anything from his sending off at Newport County. A petulant performance and he could easily have been sent off on the final whistle. Can we really afford to have him at the club despite his qualities?

Alioski 2
He tried to link up with Saiz in the first half. Why do we take off a player who can change a game when we are trailing 2-0 and bring on a defensive midfielder?

Dallas 2
I like Dallas but it definitely wasn`t one of his better performances.

Subs

Forshaw 5

The only midfielder who can win the ball, be an outlet and look to move the ball around.

Vieira 2
He is nowhere near the player we know he can be. He has looked lost in midfield this season.

Ekuban 2
A waste of time by the time he came on.

Summary
Where to start?

There is one thing that and we as Leeds fans demand is commitment. We can be rubbish, individual players can be rubbish but the fans will back them if they are prepared to run through a wall for the shirt. Unfortunately, what I witnessed was so far away from commitment, it was totally embarrassing.

We have a goalkeeper who cannot stop or catch a ball, two of the defenders should be playing in League Two and two central midfielders that cannot tackle and when they have the ball cannot pass.

Thankfully, I didn`t have too far to travel but some fans had come across from Europe and the length and breadth of the country. They had made the effort to brave awful weather conditions and treacherous roads and for what? A disgusting half-hearted performance. If ever the PR machine that is Andrea Radrizzani was to do anything for the fans, then those of us who travelled to Middlesbrough deserve something back from the club. I would happily take effort for 90 minutes – Is that too much to ask? Going by the performance then yes it seems it is.

Ironically, I remember an awful performance at Hereford United in 2009 when a relatively new manager, Simon Grayson, tore into the squad after the game and we then went on a brilliant run of results. It is time already for Paul Heckingbottom to read the riot act to these prima-donnas who are stealing a living. Unfortunately, I cannot see him getting the response Grayson received.

The next question is, how do we offload most of this current squad because they are nearly all on three, four and five year deals. I cannot see any other club wanting them.

I am dreading the Wolves game on Wednesday. First thing, give the young goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell a game and Adam Forshaw also must start.

Finally, I take my hat off to each and every fan that made the effort on a freezing cold Friday night. I spoke to fans from Devon, Cornwall, London, Sweden and Ireland who had all travelled in treacherous conditions. The fans sang their hearts out for 90 minutes and then what do we get back from the team? Absolutely nothing!

Like myself, a fan that has been going to games for over 50-years, patience is finally wearing thin and we have seen a lot of dross over the years.

Sort it out Leeds United!
