Leeds were denied a well deserved victory against Premiership opposition in Blackburn Rovers when they conceded a last minute penalty .

All three summer signings Jason Crowe, Shane Higgs and Patrick Kisnorbo made their debuts in the starting line up.

Leeds once again used the game to give the vast majority of the squad a run out with 19 players taking part.

Ex Leeds keeper Paul Robinson was welcomed back to Elland Road and was much the busier keeper.

The Whites dominated long periods of the game and deservedly took the lead when Jermaine Beckford cleverly flicked in after Becchio won an header in the area.

Leeds looked like beating Blackburn but referee Mike Oliver awarded a penalty in the last minute after Alan Sheehan fouled Benni McCarthy inside the area.

Paul Gallagher made no mistake from the resulting spot kick but Leeds could be well happy with the performance overall during the game.

Next up is a trip to Newcastle United on Wednesday night.

Team:

Higgs, Crowe (Hughes 56), Marques (Huntington 74), Kisnorbo (Michalik 56), Parker (Sheehan 69), Snodgrass, Delph (Robinson 69), Howson, Johnson (Prutton 74), Beckford (Showunmi 79), Becchio (Grella 79)
