According to reports Leeds United have been scared off by the £1 million asking price for Bolton Wanderers defender Matt Mills and they are now looking to take him on a season long loan.

Leeds have been tracking the 26-year-old defender since last summer, when they lost out to Bolton Wanderers for his signature from Leicester City.

Bolton paid in the region of £2 million for Mills who worked with Brian McDermott at Reading and he was the manager`s captain as they reached the championship play-off final.

If these reports are true then it looks like Leeds United will once again be dealing around the bargain basement in the transfer window.

Let us hope Brian McDermott can spot a bargain better than the previous manager.
