Leeds United boss Brian McDermott says they are committed to buying winger Cameron Stewart from Hull City in the summer.

The winger has been on loan at Elland Road since January but he has struggled to hold down a regular place in the side and he has played just eleven times since arriving on loan in January.

Stewart hasn`t featured in any of the last four games. His last start was against Doncaster Rovers in March and McDermott admits the club are committed to the deal to bring him in on a permanent deal in the summer.

Speaking at his press conference ahead of the final game of the season with Derby County this weekend, McDermott said, “Cameron will be signed in the summer. We are committed to the signing.”

Leeds have agreed a three-year deal with the 23-year-old winger who started his career with Manchester United before signing for Hull in 2011 after a successful loan spell with the tigers.

Stewart has also had loan spells with Yeovil Town, Burnley, Blackburn Rovers and he spent the first half of this season on loan with Charlton Athletic.

The winger is ineligible for Leeds final championship game of the season having now completed his 93-day loan deal at Elland Road.
