Leeds United look set to sign Laurens De Bock from Belgian side Club Brugge with the defender undergoing a medical at Elland Road.

De Bock has left Club Brugge`s winter training camp in Spain to finalise personal terms as well as undergo his medical after agreeing a deal with the Belgian club.

The 25-year-old defender has fallen down the pecking order at the Belgian side this season making just six appearances and Leeds have moved quickly to solve one of their problem positions this season during the January transfer window and they will hope to have the deal done in time for the trip to Ipswich Town this weekend.

Right full-back Gaetano Berardi has been playing on the left side of defence this season after summer signings Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Vurnon Anita struggled to hold down a regular starting place at Elland Road.

De Bock started his career with Belgian side Lokeren where he made 80 appearances and he helped the side win the Belgian cup.

His form with Lokeren saw him move to Club Brugge in 2012 and he has made 135 appearances for them, helping them win both the title and Belgian Cup.

De Bock has been involved with the Belgian national squad but he is still waiting to make his debut.

Leeds have already brought in Aapo Halme from Finnish champions HJK and Japanese international Yosuke Ideguchi during this transfer window.
