Leeds travelled to Oldham to play in front of the live Sky TV cameras in a crucial game at the top of League One.

Leeds were forced into two changes due to the suspension of Jon Howson and a hamstring injury to Andy Robinson, starting in their places were Bradley Johnson and Lucciano Becchio.

In a very scrappy first half the best chances fell to Leeds, Luciano Becchio should have done better when put through but allowed the Oldham player to get back and clear, from the resulting ball into the middle Leeds had strong claims for a penalty turned down when the ball clearly struck the arm of a Oldham defender.

Oldham`s only real chance of the half fell to Lee Hughes after Richard Naylor slipped and allowed him in, Rui Marques got across to block the shot.

Beckford should have done better with a header after a great ball into the middle by Kilkenny but his effort went wide with the keeper beaten.

Then after some great work by Snodgrass down the wing his ball into the middle was wasted by Bradley Johnson who should have done better with his shot.

Soon afterwards another good cross into the middle by Beckford was headed straight at the keeper by Snodgrass.

A poor first half but Leeds would have been happy with keeping their hosts down to a single chance on goal after their recent away performances.

Leeds had the first chance of the second half, a free kick by Snodgrass found Naylor in space but he couldn`t get enough power on his header to trouble Fleming in the Oldham goal.

The home side took the lead soon after, Lee Hughes should never have beaten Ankergren from the angle he was at but somehow it got past the Leeds keeper.

Leeds were nearly back on level terms from the kick off, Becchio`s header was tipped over the bar by Fleming.
From the resulting corner this time Becchio`s bullet header gave the keeper no chance.

Snodgrass had Leeds next chance just past the hour but his long range effort was straight at the keeper.

A beautiful Leeds move with fifteen minutes left on the clock ended with Delph`s shot being saved by Fleming.

Beckford had Leeds next chance but his weak effort was cleared by the Oldham defence.

Leeds gained a point in a much improved away performance, four points from six against fellow promotion candidates in the last three days sees Leeds handily placed in fifth place in League One
