Vital Leeds forum member Tiny T gives us his view from the stands about Leeds 2-1 victory against Leyton Orient.

First Half
Leeds started brightly and the gift of a penalty early on from a blocked Parker shot should have set us going, Beckford blasted the penalty over the bar.
Orient came into the half as the game progressed and forced a couple of corners. Leeds went behind when a mistake by Paul Telfer allowed Orient to take the lead.
Leeds equalised when they broke at pace and a Beckford assist saw Becchio level the scores. Orient then nearly had the ball in the net again but Leeds broke swiftly and a powerhouse header saw Leeds take the lead.

Second Half
There were no goals but plenty of incidents, Beckford hit the post and bar four times and drew a brilliant one handed save from the O’s keeper.
Orient had their moments too but neither side could increase the score.

Game we could easily have lost; midfield needs width (sick of saying this). Centre of defence is a worry as no consistency with whoever plays there.

Becchio is a revelation, come January another player in the side Clubs from higher Division`s will be looking at.

Can we not interest them in Hughes, Kilkenny, Michalik and a few of the others?

Thanks Tiny for your report and player ratings.

Player Ratings

David Lucas 6
Stunning first half save and some easy saves in the second half. Troubled under the high ball and distribution is laboured.

Frazer Richardson 7
Defended well and got forward at times, no protection in front as midfield played too narrow.

Ben Parker 7
Solid in defence and got forward, shot blocked for the penalty.

Lubomir Michalik 4
For a man whose 6’4 he jumps 6’2, didn’t win hardly anything in the air, poor on the ground.

Paul Telfer 5
At fault for the Orient goal and is not a Centre Half but stuck to the task.

Jonny Howson 6
Got stuck in but still doesn`t seem up to last years level, in his defence he does not play regular.

Fabian Delph 6
Another not up to his best, battled in a crowded midfield.

Jonathan Douglas 6
Some good balls and tackles, as the holding midfielder gets sucked out of position.

Neil Kilkenny 4
Wants the ball all the time but usually it goes backwards and sideways, couldn’t tackle his way out of a paper bag.

Jermaine Beckford 6
Hit the post and bar four times and also missed a penalty, needs to work like Becchio when we lose possession.

Lucciano Becchio 8
Two goals and a standing ovation at the end, says it all.

Andy Robinson
Little time to have any input

David Prutton
Allowed Becchio the ovation he deserved, only played for two minutes.
