Neil Kilkenny wants to be the next Leeds player to put pen to paper and sign a new deal at Elland Road.

The Australian international is keen to follow in the footsteps of Luciano Becchio who signed a new deal at the weekend.

Kilkenny is out of contract in the summer after signing a two and a half year deal when he joined the club in January 2008.

Speaking in the YEP, Kilkenny said, ‘I really want to stay here and feel honoured to play for the club.
‘I want to let that be known. I’ve enjoyed my time here and feel that I’ve played regularly over the past three years.
‘I’ve made nearly 150 appearances for the club now and that’s really a very good record over three seasons.
‘Hopefully, the club can sort something out.’

The 25 year old has played in all but two of Leeds games this season and helped them rise to second in the table with some good performances in recent weeks.

Simon Grayson has a busy period ahead with a number of players out of contract in the summer.

Bradley Johnson as already turned down the offer of a new deal and as been placed on the transfer list, whilst fans favourite Luciano Becchio signed a new three and a half year deal at Elland Road.
