Leeds United travel to Blue Square Premiership side Kettering Town on Sunday for an FA Cup second round tie hoping to avoid the same humiliation they did at this stage last season when losing to Histon.

Kettering
The Poppies have struggled since losing former boss Mark Cooper to Peterborough.

They have lost their last two games including two home games in the space of the last week against Kidderminster and Hayes.

Prior to these setbacks, their last home defeat came back in August against Wimbledon.

So far at home this season they have won four, drawn five and lost three.

The Whites continue to set the pace in League One and have won their last six games in a row in all competitions.

History

It will be the first time the clubs have ever met in a competitive game.

Kettering have already enjoyed a bit of giant killing in the cup this season when they beat League One Hartlepool 1-0 away in the first round.

In Kettering`s history they have played 42 games at home in the FA Cup, they have won 9, drawn 12 and lost 21.

Last season they enjoyed a good run reaching the fourth round before losing at home 4-2 against Premiership side Fulham.

They also enjoyed beating league opposition twice with replay wins over Lincoln City and Notts County.

The furthest they have ever gone in the competition has been the fourth round twice.

As well as last season, they also did it in 1988/89 when they eventually lost 2-1 at Charlton Athletic.

Leeds United have won the FA Cup on one occasion in 1972 and been beaten finalists on three occasions against Liverpool (1965), Chelsea (1970) and Sunderland (1973).

The Whites played their first ever first round fixture in 2007 when they lost in a replay against Hereford 1-0 at home.

It`s the third year in a row that Leeds have had to enter the competition at the first round stage.

Last season Leeds were beaten in the FA Cup for the first time in their history by a non league side when Blue Square Premiership club Histon Town beat them 1-0.
