Leeds United are in discussions with Bradley Johnson about a new contract according to reports on Sky Sports News..

The midfielder has got just under two years left on his current contract and expressed his desire to stay at Leeds earlier in the season when he said on Sky Sports News ‘I’m keen to stay at Leeds. I love the club and the city.”

Johnson joined the club in January 2008 in a deal thought to be around £250,000 from Northampton Town and was a regular in the sides run to the Play Off final.

The following season he struggled to break into the first team under Gary McAllister.
He enjoyed a successful loan spell with Brighton around the Christmas period, scoring five goals in ten games for the South Coast club.

Rumours were that he was on his way out of Elland Road in the last January transfer window, but these failed to materialise despite a number of Championship clubs rumoured to be showing an interest.

Johnson struggled to make an impression during the rest of the season and he was usually on the substitute`s bench.

The 22 year old though has looked like a new player this season and he`s chipped in with some very important goals in Leeds run to the top of the League One table.

He`s currently second in the goal scoring charts for Leeds, scoring seven goals so far this season.
