Leeds United goalscorer Bradley Johnson felt his goal counted for nothing after seeing his Leeds side swept aside by a classy Arsenal in the FA Cup replay at Elland Road.

Arsenal eventually won the tie 3-1 but Johnson gave Leeds a glimmer of hope in the first half when they trailed 2-0.

Johnson was teed up with John Howson 35 yards from goal and his fierce shot gave Szczesny no chance in the Arsenal goal.

Speaking on ITV after the game, Johnson said, “I`ve been told if I get the opportunity to shoot, have a shot because they know I can pull off things like that. I do it every day in training and I practice my shooting and luckily tonight it`s come off for me, but we didn`t get the win so it counts for nothing.”

Arsenal made no mistake in the replay after having to rely on a 90th minute penalty to earn them a replay in the first game at the Emirates.

Nasri and Sagna had given the visitors a two-goal lead after 35 minutes and only some fine goalkeeping by Kasper Schmeichel kept Leeds in the game.

Johnson`s goal two minutes after Sagna had doubled the lead gave Leeds hope but that was ended in the final fifteen minutes when Van Persie scored a third to put the tie beyond Leeds.
