Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson watched on from the bench as Sweden booked their place in the World Cup finals next summer.

Sweden caused the upset of the World Cup play-offs with a 0-0 draw in Italy on Monday night to book their place in Russia next summer having won the first leg in Sweden last week 1-0.

The draw for Italy sees them missing their first World Cup finals in 60-years.

Jansson has been a regular in the Sweden squad since his arrival at Leeds in 2016 and he would be expected to make the squad for the finals next summer.

Fellow Leeds player Eunan O`Kane is with the Republic of Ireland squad tonight as they try to book their place in the finals. Ireland drew 0-0 in Denmark on Saturday night.
