Michael Tonge earned Leeds a point in the Yorkshire derby at Sheffield Wednesday but the game will be overshadowed by an idiot who ran on the pitch and struck Owls goalkeeper Chris Kirkland.

The incident happened following the equalising goal by Leeds. The fan ran onto the pitch and pushed Kirkland in the face, leaving Kirkland needing treatment.

It is sure to see Leeds United facing action from the Football League and the club quickly made a statement after the game condemning the person (I cannot call him a fan or supporter).

The incident came at a time with the match perfectly poised at 1-1with just under fifteen minutes remaining.

On the pitch, Jay Bothroyd had given Sheffield Wednesday a first half lead close to half time and looked set to for a first win since the opening month of the season.

Tonge equalised for Leeds with a well struck shot from the edge of the area but few will remember the highlights of the game due to an idiot who encroached onto the playing surface and decided to put Leeds United back 20 years.
