Leeds United captain Jonny Howson is still confident that Leeds can clinch a play off spot despite their recent poor run of results.

Leeds still hold sixth place the last play off position and with clubs now queuing up to challenge them for the place, Howson is confident that the club will be in the play offs at the end of the season.

Speaking on the official website, Howson said, “You have to be confident without being over confident.
“We believe we can do it. The management and staff do and the players do.”

Leeds have won just one of their last six games, picking up just five points from a possible eighteen, the clubs worst run of the season.

Howson is now getting ready for the arrival of the Championships inform team Reading on Friday night.

The Royals come into the game on the back of eight straight wins and a twelve match unbeaten run, that as seen them climb from twelfth in the table to fourth and just three points outside the final automatic promotion place.

Howson is hoping Leeds can return to form with an improved performance to set them up for the final few weeks of the season, “We`ve got a game on Friday against Reading and we need to put in a better performance and up our game,” he continued.

Leeds fans will need no introduction to the Championships form player on Friday night.
Former Leeds favourite Ian Harte has recently won the npower Championship player of the month for March and he was also included in the PFA Championship Team of the Year, which was announced last Sunday.
