Leeds United have been dealt a blow with the news that Paul Green could be out for up to eight weeks.
The midfielder was forced off with a knee injury on the stroke of half time in the win over Wolves at the weekend and he was sent for scans on the injury earlier this week.
Leeds boss Neil Warnock says it is a blow to lose the midfielder, who joined in the summer from Derby County. Speaking on the official website, Warnock said, “It`s looking like a grade two strain or a tear. We`re hoping four or six weeks, but it could be eight weeks. I had the dreaded feeling with it being his knee.
“He had a good pre-season and it`s a blow to us, but he`s a good healer so with a bit of luck it might not be as bad.
“It`s very difficult to replace him with the way he was playing, but we know what we`ve got and we`ll get on. It gives the opportunity for someone else.”
In Green`s absence on Tuesday at Blackpool, defender Tom Lees was brought back into the side with Aidy White moving into midfield.
It has also given another opportunity to Danny Pugh who was recently placed on the transfer list.
The experienced midfielder was amongst the substitutes at Blackpool, having been left out of the squad for the opening game against Wolves.
