Leeds enjoyed a day off on Saturday and will have enjoyed it thoroughly with all their closest rivals dropping points.

Top of the table Norwich were held to a 1-1 draw with fourth placed Swindon Town, Grant Holt gave the visitors the lead early in the second half only for Gordon Greer to equalise for Town in injury time.

The result moves Norwich eight points clear of Leeds at the top and moves Swindon to within four points of the Whites with both clubs having played one more game.

Third placed Charlton were held to a 2-2 draw with Gillingham at home. Former Leeds favourite Frazer Richardson gave the home side the lead. The visitors were level within a minute through Andy Barcham and went in at half time in the lead when Dennis Oli scored in injury time.
David Mooney rescued a point for the home side in the second half and they are also four points behind Leeds and played a game more.

Colchester suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at Walsall after the home side played the whole of the second half with ten men. The Saddlers got the only goal of the game in the last minute thanks to Darren Byfield.

Huddersfield were the only side to win in the top eight, winning 2-0 at Leyton Orient.

Both Southampton and Bristol Rovers kept up their faint hopes of a play off place with 3-0 away wins at MK Dons and Yeovil respectively.

Ricky Lambert continued his fantastic goalscoring season for Southampton scoring a hat trick and taking his tally to the season to thirty.

Leeds will now be hoping to put the pressure on Norwich at the top and increase their lead over the chasing pack with victory over fellow promotion contenders Millwall.
