Leeds United boss Simon Grayson was delighted to see his side claim all three points but admitted for the second time in a week that the game should have been put to bed long before the final minutes of the game.
Leeds claimed all three points thanks to a Darren O`Dea winner in the sixth minute of injury time.
They looked like they were going to throw away another two points after sloppy defending allowed Peterborough to equalise with just two minutes of normal time remaining.
Leeds had been guilty of throwing away two points in the closing stages against Coventry City in midweek after a mistake by goalkeeper Paul Rachubka and it looked like lightning was going to strike twice after a comedy of errors in the Leeds defence.
Darren O`Dea and Jonny Howson collided going for the same ball and three Leeds players stood and watched as Mark Little nipped in between them to equalise.
Peterborough had been reduced to ten men for over fifty minutes after Lee Tomlin was shown a straight red card for a tackle on Andy Keogh.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Grayson said, ‘It was a game we should have put to bed before that, we got a little bit sloppy.
‘This is a difficult place to come to, but we’ve shown the quality we have all season. It’s not easy here and I’m delighted with how we played and the quality we showed.’
Leeds had twice taken the lead through strikes from Andy Keogh and Adam Clayton.
Peterborough twice drew level and looked to have denied Leeds the three points with their late equaliser until O`Dea scored with almost the last kick of the game.
