Leeds United boss Simon Grayson insists they are working hard behind the scenes as the clubs lack of transfer activity continues to frustrate bewildered fans.

So far this summer Leeds have added just Paul Rachubka to the squad whilst Kasper Schmeichel, Bradley Johnson, Neil Kilkenny, Richard Naylor and Shane Higgs have all left.

Grayson says he only wants to bring in players that will improve the squad and doesn`t want to sign players for the sake of signing players.

Speaking in the Yorkshire Evening Post , Grayson said, “I`ve had plenty of opportunities to bring players in but I didn`t feel that they`d make us any better.
“The players who we want will be available for money or free transfers soon and they`ll be getting to the stage where they have to make a decision about where they want to go.
“We`ve been working hard behind the scenes to get things done and it`s obviously frustrating for the supporters, but things are building up.
“It`s going to be hard to beat seventh place but, with the squad that we`re going to put together, we do feel that it`s a very capable objective.”

Leeds are rumoured to be on the verge of announcing their second signing of the summer with goalkeeper Andy Lonergan moving to Elland Road from Preston North End.
