LUFC Grayson – Two mistakes cost us

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson felt that two mistakes cost his side the points in the 2-1 defeat at Cardiff City.

It was Leeds first defeat in thirteen games since losing to the same opposition in October.

Leeds lost to a goal in each half from Craig Bellamy and Michael Chopra but Grayson felt that the goals were from poor defending by his side that could have easily been avoided.

Speaking on the official website, Grayson said, “It was hugely disappointing.
“They were both goals we could have eradicated. In the end we made two mistakes and suffered the consequences.”

Leeds fell behind inside ten minutes when Cardiff played a short corner with Leeds not prepared. The ball was eventually played into Bellamy who was in acres of space and had plenty of time to pick his spot.

Robert Snodgrass got Leeds back on level terms on the hour and they looked the more likely side to go on and claim all three points until a hopeful ball over the top was pounced on by Chopra and he beat Schmeichel from a tight angle.

Leeds came close to equalising late on when Heaton in the Cardiff goal had to make saves from Bradley Johnson and John Howson but it was a disappointing end to the unbeaten run that started in October.
