Leeds United travel to York City on Sunday for their first pre season game of the summer ahead of the new season.

The squad have been back in training for nine days and boss Simon Grayson will take a 22 man squad.

Grayson is seeing the new season as a new beginning, players who didn`t appear for the club last season are to be given the opportunity to push for a start when the new season starts against Exeter City on August 8th.

Richard Naylor and Rui Marques will be missing due to injury so Paul Huntington who missed the majority of last season will be hoping to take the chance to impress.

Also missing will be Tresor Kandol who spent the whole of last season out on loan at Millwall and Charlton Athletic.

The striker only returned to training this week so isn`t quite ready for Sunday`s game.

Grayson is willing to give Kandol a chance though, speaking on the official website Grayson said “He`s under contract here, and like any player he has the chance to impress”.

That also goes for players like David Prutton and Alan Sheehan who didn`t get many opportunities in the first team squad after Grayson`s arrival.

Carrying on Grayson said “Prutts has come back and he`s fit and sharp. They all came back on a level playing field, whatever players did last year is history”.

Leeds fans will be looking forward to seeing the players back in action ahead of the new season.
