Simon Grayson believes that Max Gradel`s new agent is behind all the transfer rumours surrounding the winger in the January transfer window.

Gradel is being strongly linked with a move to Premier League side Newcastle United at the moment and Grayson is laying the rumours firmly at the feet of Gradel`s agent.

Speaking in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Grayson said, ‘Max has just got a new agent who’s obviously touting him around a little bit and that always comes with the transfer window.”

The 23 year old has been in sparkling form of late, scoring eight goals in his last fourteen games.

Grayson isn`t to concerned about the rumours linking Gradel with Newcastle, ‘It’s not a concern because we don’t have to sell anyone,” he continued.

His form hasn`t gone unnoticed and he earned his first call up for the Ivory Coast national squad for the friendly in Poland in November although he played no part in the game.

The winger is currently short listed for the npower Championship player of the month for December having scored five goals in five games during the month, including both goals when Leeds defeated league leaders Queens Park Rangers.

One player who has been rumoured to be coming the other way is former Elland Road favourite Alan Smith.
