LUFC Grayson still not concerned with strike force

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson is still not overly concerned with Billy Paynter and Ross McCormack`s lack of goals, despite the pair once again drawing blanks in the pre season friendly with Sheffield Wednesday.

Grayson is still more concerned with other areas of the pitch that need strengthening before adding to the strike force.

The Leeds boss believes that the pair just need a goal each to kick start their season, despite the pair only managing three goals between them last season.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Grayson said, “Both of them just need a goal each to lift their confidence level but I think their all round game has been decent.
“It`s not really an area at this moment in time that we need to go strengthen. Until I get the rest of the positions sorted in the squad, I`m not overly concerned.
“Once I`ve got the players in place that I need to get in place, then if we`ve got some budget available then maybe we will look at getting another striker.”

Leeds are already without last seasons leading goalscorer Luciano Becchio for the start of the season after he underwent surgery on his hamstring earlier this week.

Grayson is confident that the striker will be back in the near future but fellow striker Davide Somma will be out for most of the season after requiring surgery on a cruciate knee ligament injury.
