Simon Grayson was not happy with the decision that changed the whole course of the game against Ipswich Town on Saturday.
Leeds had dominated the first half and they deservedly went in at the break ahead through a Ross McCormack goal.
The game changed inside the opening few minutes of the second half when Aidy White received a straight red card for a foul on Jay Emmanuel-Thomas.
White got tangled up with Thomas after a long clearance from the Ipswich defence and with White the last defender, perennial clown Andy D`Urso was quick to produce a red card after consultation with his assistant.
White had gone down after clearly being pushed in the back by Thomas, something D`Urso and his assistant clearly missed.
Grayson was clearly unhappy with the decision in his post match interview, claiming the sending off clearly changed the outcome of the game.
‘The whole game changed on the sending-off decision.
‘It’s a free-kick on Aidy White for a start. As he and Thomas are running through Thomas has nudged him in the back and that has made them both go down.
‘We were in no danger of losing that game until that decision,’ said Grayson.
Grayson quickly made a change, bringing on defender Andy O`Brien at the expense of forward Ross McCormack following the sending off.
Leeds thwarted the Ipswich attack until the final thirteen minutes of the game when substitute Jason Scotland equalised.
Grayson must have felt the gods were against him when Keith Andrews, who almost joined Leeds in the summer, scored the winner in the final minute of the game.
His goal had a large amount of good fortune, when his long-range effort took a huge deflection and looped over the head of Andy Lonergan in the Leeds goal.
White is the third Leeds player already this season to be shown a red card in the opening five games of the season.
