Leeds United boss Simon Grayson was delighted with his sides performance on Saturday and rates it as one of the best in his eighteen month`s in charge.

Leeds recorded their first win of the season with a 3-1 win over Millwall at Elland Road, a side that have been something of a bogey side in recent seasons.

Speaking on the official website, Grayson said, “There`s been a lot of good performances. You automatically think of Man United, but I thought Saturday was up there.”

Leeds came from behind to totally dominate the game, but they had to wait until the final fifteen minutes to take the lead.

Lloyd Sam equalised just past the half hour but in an half when Leeds dominated, they also hit the woodwork twice and missed a few really good chances as the midfield and attack tore through the Millwall defence.

“We were excellent in terms of all round performance. We worked hard, created good chances, and the game could have been all over by half time.

The game looked to be heading for a draw until an inspired substitution by Grayson saw him bring on Davide Somma for his first appearance in the league.

Somma had enjoyed a very successful loan spell at Lincoln City towards the end of last season, scoring 9 goals in 15 appearances.

Within minutes of his arrival onto the pitch, he had put Leeds into the lead following good work by Sanchez Watt and then late into injury time he left the Millwall goalkeeper flapping with an unstoppable shot from inside the area.
