Leeds United boss Simon Grayson has confirmed that the club have agreed a deal with Celtic defender Darren O`Dea.

Grayson admitted that a deal to bring O`Dea to the club had been agreed with the defender, who is due to arrive at Elland Road to complete the formalities on Thursday afternoon.

O`Dea is set to sign on a season long loan and he will be the fourth player brought in by Grayson during the summer, following goalkeepers Paul Rachubka and Andy Lonergan as well as midfielder Michael Brown.

Speaking on the official website, Grayson said, “Contrary to reports, Darren hasn`t signed yet, but we have agreed a deal in principle subject to paperwork and a medical.”

The Republic of Ireland international started his career at Home Farm in Ireland before joining Celtic in 2006.

The defender will follow former Leeds players Gary Kelly, Ian Harte, Alan Maybury and Stephen McPhail to start their careers at Home Farm before going on to play for Leeds.
