Leeds United boss Simon Grayson is setting his sights firmly on promotion to the Premier League in the clubs first season back in the Championship after three years in League One.

Grayson believes that the Championship will once again be a wide open league and whilst some people will be happy with a season of consolidation in the Championship the manager wants to continue the momentum built from last seasons promotion.

Speaking on the official website, Grayson said, “When you`ve been out of the division a couple of years you want consolidation, but you want to push on as well and hit the heights of what you can achieve. We`re all setting our sights on the Premier League.”

Grayson has strengthened his side during the summer bringing in eight new signings to bolster the squad.

The one player missing though from the squad will be Jermaine Beckford who scored 85 goals in the previous three seasons for the club.

Beckford joined Premier League Everton during the summer after his contract came to an end at Elland Road and a lot of fans are wondering who will be able to fill the void left by the marksman.

Grayson has also brought in the multi- ball system at Elland Road this season to help Leeds keep up an high tempo and is hoping that the fans can also play there part from the stands.

Continuing, Grayson said, “Back the team from start to finish. We`ll have some good times and some bad times, but we want to make Elland Road a fortress.”

Leeds start their Championship campaign on Saturday at home to Derby County in front of the nation as the game is being shown live on the BBC.
