Despite placing midfielder Bradley Johnson on the transfer list recently, manager Simon Grayson believes he is flourishing in his new role.

The midfielder was placed on the transfer list earlier in the month after he failed to agree new terms at the club on a new deal.

Johnson is out of contract in the summer and looks to be heading out of the Elland Road doors when the January transfer window opens.

The 23 year old also came in for criticism from sections of the Elland Road fans when he was booed off in the home game with Crystal Palace at the start of the month.

Since then Johnson has enjoyed a good run of form and was pivotal in the wins over Burnley and Queens Park Rangers.

Grayson as been delighted with his form in recent weeks and believes he is doing a great job in his new role.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Grayson said, “He`s flourishing with the responsibility of playing centre midfield. He`s doing a job we are asking him to do, he`s strong, powerful, keeping things simple and not complicating the game.”

Despite the glowing tribute from Grayson it looks like no new offer will be made to the midfielder and a number of Premiership clubs are also rumoured to be chasing Johnson, including Stoke, Bolton and Wigan
