LUFC Grayson – It’s still in our own hands

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson is concentrating on what lays ahead rather than looking back on the missed opportunities of the past few weeks.

Leeds still remain in the play off positions, two points ahead of Nottingham Forest and Hull City despite picking up just five points from their last six games.

With the busy Easter programme next up for Leeds, Grayson is fully aware that their destiny is still in their own hands with just four games remaining.

Speaking on the official website, Grayson said, ‘For all we’ve had a frustrating week, we’re still in a good position and if we win our remaining games we’ll secure that position.
‘It could have been worse but it should have been a lot better because we should have won at Derby.
‘Results haven’t gone too badly for us. But we have to concentrate solely on what we do to reach our target of the play-offs now.
‘We did it last year. We’re not chasing anyone. If we win our games we get in the play-offs. Let’s achieve that target. We’ve got a big game on Friday against Reading now and a big weekend with Palace a couple of days later.’

Grayson already knows what the end of season pressures can bring after seeing his side clinch promotion from League One on the final day of last season, when ten men Leeds came from behind to beat Bristol Rovers 2-1.

Leeds have a tricky run in, following the games with Reading and Crystal Palace they face Burnley at Elland Road who still haven`t given up home themselves of reaching the end of season play offs.

They then finish the season at champions elect Queens Park Rangers and I am sure they will be hoping to have already secured their place in the end of season play offs.
