Leeds United boss Simon Grayson said it was a massive result after seeing his side score twice in the closing minutes to beat Burnley 2-1 at Elland Road.

It brought to an end three successive defeats and four games without a win.

With the recent run of results, Leeds players could have disappeared after going a goal behind with just twenty minutes remaining and Grayson was delighted with his player`s commitment right until the very end.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Grayson said, “We kept going right till the very end and it is a massive result for everybody.”

Leeds came into the game on the back of an embarrassing defeat at Barnsley on Saturday and Grayson was delighted with the response of his players.

“The response from the other day was what we required and what we asked them to do. We had a long meeting yesterday and watched the DVD from the Barnsley game, which was not very good viewing,” continued Grayson.

Burnley had been reduced to ten men on the half hour after Keiran Trippier received two yellow cards in quick succession.

Leeds dominated the start of the second half but couldn`t find a way to break through the resolute Burnley defence.

It looked like being a fourth defeat in a row when Charlie Austin fired Burnley ahead with just twenty minutes remaining, with their first meaningful attack of the half.

Leeds got back into the game rather fortuitously with just two minutes remaining when Brian Easton poked the ball past his own keeper.

With the five minutes of stoppage time almost up, Burnley keeper Lee Grant failed to hold onto a long range shot from Andros Townsend and Ross McCormack was on hand to almost walk the ball into the back of the net.

Grayson was also pleased his players stuck to their task and eventually earned their reward when he continued, “We stuck in there and we worked and pressed them. We had the break with the sending off and we kept going right to the very end and got the result.

“It`s massive for everybody, obviously nobody likes to lose four on the trot and it at once stage it looked like it was going to be that.”

The win moves Leeds back into eighth place in the championship, just one point outside the play offs despite their recent poor form.
