LUFC Grayson hoping to do O’Brien deal

Despite rumours linking Andy O`Brien with a permanent move to Cardiff City, Simon Grayson is hopeful of doing a deal with Bolton for the on loan defender.

O`Brien comes to the end of his loan spell at Elland Road, ironically against Cardiff City on January 4th and Grayson is hoping to hang onto the defender.

Speaking on Radio Leeds, Grayson said, ‘We would like to try and keep Andy if possible, try at least to extend the loan to the 93 days and then the next option is to extend the loan to the end of season.
‘Or then another option is to try and do a permanent deal, but that all depends on what Bolton want to do with Andy.
‘We’ll be having a conversation with Bolton and Andy over the next few days to see where we can go with it.”

The Republic of Ireland defender joined in time for the Scunthorpe United game at the back end of October and the club are unbeaten in eleven games since his arrival.

O`Brien recently missed two games with a thigh injury but as returned to the starting line up for the last two games.
