Simon Grayson was delighted with the performance of Max Gradel after the midfielder scored and gave the Norwich defence a hard time in the 1-1 draw.

Gradel could have been forgiven for not being on top of his game after meeting up with the Ivory Coast national side for their friendly in Poland in midweek.

The diminutive winger gave Norwich defender Russell Martin a very hard time during the first half, scoring one and having a number of chances to increase the lead as he led Martin a merry dance.

Grayson speaking on Radio Leeds after the game said, “That`s what Max can do at anytime, he`s got a willingness to run at people, he`s got a willingness to work hard for the team. Today he showed a lot of quality.”

Gradel has been in great form recently and as now score three times in Leeds last five games, since being recalled to the starting line up after being dropped after the Preston game towards the end of September.

His form earned him his first call up for the Ivory Coast in midweek although he played no part in the game in Poland.

The 22 year old as done well to put behind him the sending off in the final game of the season against Bristol Rovers that forced him to miss the first four games of the season through suspension.

With competition for places very high in midfield, Grayson will be hoping with Sanchez Watt and Lloyd Sam currently having to wait their turn on the sidelines that Gradel can continue with his current rich vein of form.
