Leeds United boss Simon Grayson is warning the fellow promotion hopefuls to not write them off.

Leeds were soundly beaten at second placed Swansea on Saturday but Grayson is sure that his squad will respond in the right manner.

The defeat was only Leeds second in their last twenty one games and with just twelve games remaining, Grayson is confident that his side can soon get back to winning ways and put a run together until the end of the season.

Speaking on the official website, Grayson said, “There`s twelve games to go and there`s still an awful lot of points to play for.
“If people want to write us off that`s up to them, but we`ve lost two in twenty-one and were now challenging our players to maintain that.
“We`re capable of going on a run. Just because we`ve lost we can`t be ruled out. If people want to, so be it.”

Leeds remain in sixth place despite the defeat, they are now eight points behind second placed Swansea City who fill the final automatic promotion place.

They are probably beginning to look more nervously over their shoulders after picking up just two points from their last three games. Leicester City are just two points behind in seventh place and Burnley are on a good run under new boss Eddie Howe, who are four points behind Leeds with two games in hand.

Grayson is still confident of finishing the season in the top six, “The players are capable of going on a run and we can get the results to secure a top six place at least,” he continued.

Leeds are now without a midweek game before facing three games in seven days.

They also face two Yorkshire derbies in the month of March.

They face Doncaster at Elland Road next Saturday before travelling to relegation threatened Preston North End on the Tuesday night, who produced their performance of the season when winning 6-4 at Leeds earlier in the season.

Leeds then return to Elland Road to face Ipswich Town, who have seen an upturn in form recently, since the arrival of new boss Paul Jewell.

They finish the month at another club fighting relegation. Sheffield United are still looking for their first win in 2011 under former Leeds defender Micky Adams.
Adams took over the Blades at the start of the New Year and they have yet to record a win in the twelve games since he took over.

Leeds will be hoping for a successful month as they still face tricky clashes against Nottingham Forest, Burnley at home, Millwall, and Queens Park Rangers away amongst their final eight games of the season.
