Simon Grayson was delighted with Charlie Taylor who made his first start for the club today at just 17 year old.

Taylor is not 18 until September and he was thrust into the starting line up today with fellow youngster Aidan White suspended.

The youngster who has come through the clubs academy was involved early on and it was Taylor`s cross that set up Ross McCormack for the first goal.

Grayson was delighted for Taylor, Speaking on Yorkshire Radio , Grayson said, “Charlie Taylor for his full debut was excellent today, he was composed, defended well and I had no hesitation in playing him today.
“I`m delighted for him, I thoroughly enjoyed his debut.”

It was Taylor`s third appearance of the season having come off the bench in both rounds of the Carling Cup previously.

Taylor was a regular in the under 18`s and reserve team last season and he also picked up the goal of the year in academy and youth alliance football for his 35 yard screamer against Newcastle towards the end of last season.

The left back signed a three-year contract at Elland Road in the summer.
